I just watched what might be the best low budget horror movie I've ever seen.
It's called Shallow Ground. It is incredibly low budget, and their are some small continuity problems (Imho) but well worth renting. Excellent on scare factor, gore, and even (gasp!) plot.

The movie gets pretty reamed in reviews, but some of that is viewer stupidity, and some is the overlooking of their 40 - 70 k budget.

“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
― Marcus Aurelius
