Porn

interesting arguments, and in many cases compelling. can't say i'm yet sold on the anti-porn line, but... a certain, large percent, that is still growing? yeah. i always sort of was, but i never really stopped to think how much the violent porn thing was increasing, i just always skipped over it for the more... tasteful? stuff. but a stop at virtually any porn site finds women at the very least gagging on some guys dick (not a blowjob, but rather uncomfortable throatfucking), and usually alot worse.

anyway. long article, pretty good, worth reading to the end, and not skipping the middle.

Since I am an inherently self absorbed person, this article was an eye opener for me. I can honestly say that I had never thought about how the 'actresses' in such films might feel, nor did I ever try to put myself in their shoes. I was disturbed by the content of the article, but am glad you put up the link anyway.

“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”

yeah.

i still think that both prostitution, and porn (same thing really) are in theory ok, and when it is safe, controlled, and non-degrading (as much as possible) i have no problem with it.

but then, it doesn't often play out like that. i... don't know what the answer is, but i know the violent stuff disturbs me and makes me hate humanity.

I wish I could remember where I saw it, but I ran a across a series of interviews with porn actressess and actors with 'violent sex scenes' as the topic. Apparently it really fucks with their heads some times, and results in an increase of sexual deviancy. Some of the women actually experienced trauma associated with rape, and even some of the men begn to feel highly uncomfortable with their own actions, and morality.
I also noticed that a lot more of the men were actually okay with it, but it seems to me like they were probably kind of dicks to begin with.
Anyway, I'll see if I can find it again, but don't hold your breath.

it is alot easier to be ok with violence when you aren't the target of it.
