For those driving out of edmond, beware the construction. the speed is 35, and despite lack of signage, is 35 all the way out of edmond until after the turnpike exit. Coming in it is 45.

I was pulled over yesterday, despite the fact that everyone was speeding, and still was after i got pulled over, and i was given a ticket for driving too fast in a construction zone that was totally off the road. it is ridiculous, but it is also a constant for the next year, according to the cop. so. you've been warned. don't give OKC/Edmond your money.

also, there's a small herd of unattended cattle milling about campus today. too many actually for campus security to safely chase them off campus, so be advised. Hopefully the iguanas won't cause them to stampede

I will keep that in mind. I don't use it unless I am going towards a friends in midwest city or further out. I will however probably bypass the construction from now on. Damn it Edmond :/

Bwahahahaha...iguanas. My manager has a tie with them all over it and near the bottom it says, "Iguana be more like Jesus."

it is already lowered on the ticket, he wrote it as a citation for 1-10, but noted it as 57 in a 35 zone, so i'm not sure how much sympathy i'll be able to get. and i don't want to drive all the way down to the courthouse. but we'll see i suppose.

The cops sit and wait too, usually behind or around the 'Welcome To Edmond' sign (kinda funny), and in the car dealership parking lots.
Oh, and the construction extends down Memorial, and down 33rd. I think its all part of a large scale conspiracy to gather the money, and bodies of unwary drivers (and there are oh so many of those).
You know I was almost in a wreck the other day on 33rd. Guy pulled across two lanes of traffic, without a turn signal. The only reason I didn't jackknife into him, is because I was already slowing down to turn, and I was able to skid my car into the oncoming lane (don't worry there were no cars, the other side had a red light).
It was both a bit cool and also very dangerous (don't try this at home kids), but I was kind of impressed with my reaction time and ability to respond to the situation.
Anyway, the story ends with me honking and flipping him not one but two of the sweetest little birds you ever did see.

The moral of this anecdote is that Edmond is no longer safe, I'm glad I'm leaving. Everyone else should do the same.
Be safe, drive careful...Edmond wants blood.

Warning about Edmond and Broadway Extension
