I don't want to see anyone try to take up the mantle of Joker...it will be like all the Crow movies after Brandon Lee...they killed the wrong guy at the end ...

Well as far as the next movie (this was good enough to ensure a 3rd) they could do:

Riddler (Carey was and is a good choice but the director made him play the Mask not the Riddler)

Catwoman (god Michelle is HOT) this is a villain done right (like the joker) so it is harder to pick a replacement, my ideas are Kiera Knightly, I heard Scarlett Johansen suggested, after seeing Hancock I can recommend Charlize Theron

Tempus Fugit - dont know who could play him maybe John Malkovich

Penguin (of course) but why? I have never seen him presented in a light that makes him a worthwhile effort... DeVito did an entertaining job but the character does not have any unique drives...

Bane - this would be tough since he is SOOOO tough for Batman to deal with... he either "kills" him in a cliffhanger and we find out Batman lived or he goes down and we all feel cheated like in Spiderman 3... great villain but bad choice I think for the next movie

Poison Ivy - kinda cool and I would expect sexed up girl/earth power type persona and that could be fun but the CG requirements would be high and that would detract from the realism of the series so far

Clayface, Mr Freeze, ect - again too much CG required and would ruin realistic feel... special effects and some CG touch up is fine (like Scarecrows fear visions or Dent) but it feels solid and real 90% of the time and these would require entire fights that would likely be only 50% real or less...

Wasn't there some egyptian guy as well or was that just the 60's show??

I actually really want the Mad Hatter. Killer Croc was cool in the recent toon. The villain I want to see most is Superman.

your words are like music. superman was my first choice :)

though the world will be overrun with vampire zombies before that happens (they had a billboard for it in the will smith movie that i can't remember the name of from last year).

Dark Knight beat Spidey 3 for highest grossing opening. Got the Ledger bump, plus it was actually good.

And I disagree with you about the Gotham Knight toon. While I am also not a fan of the anime style, I think it served to represent more of a feeling than a look, which I like. Like an expressionist painting. Certain styles excentuated his stealth, supernatural nature, hunter, etc. This mini stories were solid on their own. The linking was really not needed, but there. I love the moment when he found all the discarded guns, then left him around his house in random places for Alfred to trip over. The time he turned down the high-powered tech for fear of hurting people. The way he took down Deadshot. The pain story. All solid. All this, and I think I hate anime more than you. I just hate it. Still mad about the late 90's when it ruined comics. Stupid 1996...

awesome. i'm soooo happy it beat spiderbitch.

gotham just turned me off. but then again i'm not that into "feel" based things personally. it wasn't bad, just not great imo, but i can see how it would be more up your alley than mine.

steven's post was elquent and descriptive.
