these vids look awesome. this is among the first video games, outside of rereleases of old nes/snes games, that i've found myself looking forward to in a long time.

I don't know if this going to be better than or just different from the existing series. I sorta wondered when nid's would show up. Soulstorm just game out a little while ago, I had anticipated a further expansion to include nids, but it seems that they are going to release DoW II with marines, orks, eldar, and nids, and probably expand the game from there.
It didn't really look like the same scope as the recent games, but so far only a couple moments of actual gameplay are available, so we'll just have to wait and see.

it is small unit tactics, but the scope of the plot is much larger. save the galaxy and your race.
the units are able to level up over time, and acquire wargear. terrain factors in a lot more (and can be destroyed for tac advantage), and overall engagement tactics are supposed to be more important.
oh, and there is a story.
this is more to my liking than the first, though i do understand how some people might like the other better.

sounds like it'll be fun and enough different from the current DoW franchise to allow them to continue expanding that. DoW:soulstorm is like starcraft * Risk / warhammer 40k.
Plus current DoW has a lot of multiplayer potential, with the army painter and stuff like that.
DoWII: Pistols at Dawn will be cool, and different. And cool.

i am almost done w/soulstorm. 2 more territories. sisters are giving me hell. they are imp gaurd mixed w/marines. all the good shit of both, few of the flaws.

Its a shame that the snake had no fangs, it would have been a more satisfying vid. I still laughed. On a similar topic that kids country of origin should been nuked with all expediency.
