I have serious reservations about this movie, as I have already seen the animated Clone Wars series by Gendy Tartovsky. This movie seems to be replacing that series with a diffrent version of the time-line. They made up characters which are just like characters that already existed, instead of just using the cool characters already available. I could see a bunch of bad continuity just in the previews alone, so god only knows what the feakin movie is gonna be like, and honestly the animation style doesn't thrill me.
I think this is probably just another example of George Lucas being a retard, and trying to destroy Star Wars. The thing that really gets me is that there was nothing wrong with the animated Clone Wars cartoon. In fact I dare say it was probably the coolest Star Wars stuff ever put on film. Now there is this new movie which seems to want to replace it...WTF.
I suppose what I am saying is that you can count me out. I would actually discourage people form contributing to box office sales for this fiasco. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is one Star Wars film I have no interest in seeing at the theatre. If it does bad enough, perhaps it will send a message to someone who cares.
Gendy Tartovsky was a real fan, who did us true fans proud. He actualized the themes and ideas of Star Wars as well as the characters, and made something awesome. Now someone is going to try and replace that...well to hell with that. I'll wait for the dvd and maybe see it then, but I won't contribute to something that smacks the face of a blatantly superior work (Tartovsky's cartoon).
If you guys see it and feel I'm off base let me know, and i'll give it a chance. I actually have a policy of trying not to knock movies without having seen them, but in this case I am making an exception, I truly feel that this movie is going to be repulsive to me.
I read several reviews and it seems to be everything I am dreading. The more I think about it the more this just pisses me off. I mean seriously, how can they replace the Clone Wars animated movies? That's really f***ed up. I say boycott this abominable brainchild of Lucas, and don't help increase its box office numbers.

I agree with exactly half of your points at any given time, though which half I disagree with varies constantly.

Tropic Thunder is hillarious. It is one of the few recent comedies that has been able to actualize what the previews promised. The whole movie is chocked full of comedy gold, from the stereotypes, to the racial slurring/blurring. Good times everyone, good times. Oh, and Tom Cruise was actually funny.
