Character Creation

Post by adam »

For the Tower game, you have 28 points to buy your stats. You can play races out of the MM but, they suck compared to the races in the PH, no racial feats and less extra stuff. Dunno when we will start playing, so make your characters! If you want any specific magic items, post it so it might get included.

I am assuming that does not mean items at start...
How many are you taking on at any given time?
just the standard 5? less, more?

That you acknowledge something else as better and then persist in doing the one you see as being worse never ceases to amaze me.

I don't care how many players. Of course you get 100 starting gold.

it is all about challenge. it is easy to do the most efficient thing. but winning when you are naked, retarded, and 300lbs overweight... that is a victory you can be proud of.

also, there is a certain allure in seeing if something can be used in creative ways. sure, fighters aren't as good, but they have interesting abilities that may be able to be used tacticaly to great advantage.

basically, i like thinking. having the best offensive and defensive abilities just means i constantly reuse those rather than having my choices actually matter.

dani expressed interest in playing a mage or ranger.

I am heavily thinking rogue, but warlord is tempting.

fighter is done.
and because everyone cares, here is the plan.

**********************
Equipment: battle axe, scale mail, other stuff that doesn't matter.

stats starting and [ending]
str 16 [24]
dex 15 [18]
con 18 [24
int 10 [12]
wis 15 [18]
cha 8 [10]

my powers revolve around 3 things: healing myself, crowd control, and manipulating positioning (didn't take alot of high damage stuff, but i do have a few just in case).

paragon path likely will be iron vangaurd, but possibly kensai.

heroic feats: dwarven weapon training, dodge giants, acrobatic skill training, alertness, escape artist, weapon focus or toughness
paragon feats: dwarven durability, back to the wall, evasion, agile athlete, combat anticipation, mettle or an improved defense feat
epic feats: blind fight, axe mastery, unfettered stride, flanking maneuver, feat, feat

if we get enough players we can play two games.

steven
thael
jason
daniel
cheyne
zack
adam
josh

not sure who else we got, maybe mike/emily? that would put at 2 parties of 4-5, depending if a gm also plays a character... that could be cool. 2 parties of the right size would be far better than 1 party of humongozoidal proportions.

not even close. at least to my knowledge anyway.

i say, after everyone is done making characters, assuming we get 10ish people, that everyone draw out of a hat for what group they are in (except me, i claim adam b/c i set the whole thing up damnit).

oh, and did you or thael want to be the one to run a second group if we have too many players?
