Okay, this was all Cheyne. I never played either of these games (Final Fantasy 4 and Zelda, respectively) as a kid. Therefore I can't really help with this one. Maybe Cheyne can get on here and give a bit of info., but I'm clueless. I'm gonna Google them later.

The setting is a classical fantasy battleground. A deep gourge between two massive cliffs. A raging white river, can be heard in the background. Two figures each from a diffrent world and wielding that worlds ultimate weapon face each other waiting for the first move.

the crystals are an ongoing ff theme actually. they control the elements of their world, and magnify the wielders power. they are otherwise vague.

the triforce is a bit more defined, but more esoteric. it bolsters the power of the wielder, and implements the will of the wielder upon the spiritual essence of reality.

it was by the power of the crystals that you could learn other abilities like summons... They kill little elf children for breakfast
