Avengers may 6th

Post by arete »

It has been expressed that people would like to see avengers as a group activity. I have tickets to IMAX 3d 3:30pm at the warren on 5/6/12.

Edit: I had the date wrong.

I am really looking forward to this film, and will not see it in 3d. I will likely try to catch it at either Quail or Tinseltown in IMAX non-3D, or regular, depending on showing times. I'm also very unlikely to go on opening night.

The warren looks interesting, but the main features that you pay for going there are the seat-side service for food and such, and I would rather pay attention to the film I'm watching than attempt to navigate a meal in the dark. Probably cool for a date, maybe, but too expensive.

Honestly, AMC 24 is "too expensive" as well, I usually go there for the convenience of it's location, and to make showings on time after a last minute decision to see something.

Unless you're just going to a normal matinee showing, at which point your $6 ticket is pretty much the same as all the other theaters, except with better seats and a generally cleaner theater (since it is newer). If you're me, this is basically ideal because any cost differences between it and anything north of I-240 are offset by not having to drive as far. :P

Yes I ment 5/6/12

Btw you have to see it in 3d if you want to see it in IMAX, and it does not add to the cost. IMAX is only ever in one edition. The only IMAX options are AMC 24 or the Warren. AMC 24 is a IMAX conversion and is terrible compared to the warren. The cost is the same either way, and so I see no reason to ever go back to AMC.

I will be seeing this movie, but dont know when. I will only go to Tinseltown because they are cheap, and clean. I dont care whether it is in 3/D or not. I have found myself enjoying 3/D, but it certainly isnt a neccessity, especially if I can get a cheaper ticket w/o.

IMAX is the only cost driver here. It is $13 for this showing.

T-town is a good option for a cheap regular theater, and I am not opposed to it for group events.

I will be seeing all of this summers big movies in IMAX because it is a bigger better screen and the sound is greatly improved.

I'm a bit leery of trying to get into a theater for such a big movie on opening day. Has there been discussion of when and where other people would like to do this?

I was kind of thinking about tomorrow at the earliest evening showing after haley is off work. Not sure about other people of course.

Meeting up at 5:45 trying for 6:00 showing, if that is full then we will go with the 6:45 showing. Might do food after the movie.
