Need your pink macaroni lightning

anyway
I am trying to put together a viable Illusion mage Npc. One that is powerful enough to be fun to fight both in and outside of initiative. (illusion maze / illusionary quest that once you complete you will receive only the realization that it is fake at the end)

the PF spells don't get good for illusion (mind affecting terrain alteration with building) until way too high a level.

I was wondering if your pink macaroni lightning combined with the pathways you have build around the 3.5 information could assist me
I am currently reading into Psionics and supplementary spell lists in 3.5.

Any suggestions? (spells to use, books to read, reference sheets to reference?)

Legend:
Pink macaroni = your brain
Pink macaroni lightning = your thoughts (electrical firing in your brain)
Pink macaroni lightning pathways = your knowledge of something
Goading Goats = Random useless troll post
sorry
and
thanks

I have no idea what is being said here, so it is impossible for me to help, and by 'impossible' I mean 'yes'.

Blue spiddle, and wet noodles are formed when the martian dog marinates under the outer suns of Roulp. Stir the brain pictures with a heafty lifting wagon, to insure liquidity. Do this until the second sun dips forthways below the planet's ending. Mix in a Venutian Megacabbage to flavor. Simmer. Let stand until the headcheese dribbles in rivulets down the side of your face, and then serve with chilled spangle.

Hope this helps.

Fox... Im a freakin three-tailed fox! I look nothing like a wolf. I will trick you from your home, and steal your shoes. Then I will lead you to your goat moat, where you can swim for all time. Thats the fox way. KITSUNE!!

I've been thinking a bit about this, but I still need to do some more research before comment.

That's only because my very poignant thoughts are veiled behind a veneer of not so poignant ones.

I didn't forget about you, I told you I'd work on it... And I did!

It turns illusions into any other spells in the evocation or conjuration schools. Kind of a cheat I guess, but it was the best I could do. As for just pure illusion, w/out all the shadow stuff, you might look at doing a warrior/wizard hybrid (gish). Illusion has a decent number of good buffs (blur, mirror image, greater invisibility, etc.) so you could tack that onto an eldritch knight/abjurant champion or something. Actually, that's a fairly interesting character build, an illusionist>abjurant champ>eldritch knight... Though I'm sure there are better ways of optimizing it.

And then finally, make good use of illusion spells in the lair of the monster/boss/wizard/whatever. If the room looks and feels like a nice air conditioned IHOP but is really a pool of boiling magma, well, that has some consequences for the players that don't make their saves. So does hiding an army of critters behind "walls" of illusionary stone, or pit traps, or the wizard itself who sets up delayed blast fireballs to go off and then moves to a new location.

It is as I feared then, Illusion has all of its utility spent in great defense spells. I will just morph spells from other schools into more utility based spells instead of more damage.
Thank you for your brain
