I LOVE Lunars!!!!

Story for my character....or part of it anyways.

Khylar lay upon the hot stone altar, slick with his own blood as his

tormentors surrounded him. He had once been a hunter and warrior for his

tribe, a nomadic tribe that lived in the jungles in the southeastern regions of

creation. Once he had been free...no more however. They came at night

under the darkness of the new moon, Fair Folk from beyond creation, there

was too much confusion that night to count how many attacked, but he knew

how many of his clanmates escaped...no one. They were taken far from the

jungle of his birth and into the shifting Wyld beyond creation. He had no

idea how long they had traveled, it would not have mattered if he did have

an estimation anyway. The Wyld was maddening there were times when you

would travel for half of a day and it would seem as though you had crossed

thousands of miles, then there would be days in which you could swear that

you were traveling in circles all day. His captors had not seemed distraught

by this but they seemed to know the changing landscapes. After weeks or

months, they arrived at their destination. It appeared to be a desert that

had rivers of flowing magma, yet while some behaved like normal magma

in that it would melt the flesh off of the unwary traveller, others you could

wade in with no ill effects. All the rivers flowed out of a pyramid in the

center of the desert. Their captors dragged the surviving prisoners into that

pyramid and there the true torment began. Time was still maddening in

this place, or maybe it was he who was mad, for he could not tell how long it

was between sessions. All of the sessions were different, in some they

chained his arms and legs behind his back and fed him a sulfurous smelling

stone that crumbled to dust when it touched saliva, before throwing him into

one of the rivers of magma, causing all of his flesh to be seared away yet

leaving him alive. Other times they would cover him in a mixture of sand

and clay then fire him as a glass blower would melt glass until the substance

melded itself onto his body. Still other times they would feed him exotic

delicious tasting food that would cause him severe wracking pains all over

and he could hear and feel his bones break, joints get torn out of socket,

and skin split and tear open as his skeleton and muscles grew to unnatural

proportions in a matter of minutes. All of these and more tortures that he

could not remember he was subjected to, but all of them were only

supervised by one or two of his captors. This was different, they dragged

him to the top of the pyramid and chained him to the apex which appeared

to be a ritualistic altar, and he was surrounded by all of his captors. He

could not understand what they were saying but he picked up words, such

as "nearly complete", "Wyld Exalt", "perfect specimen". His screams

seemed to echo across the great expanse on the desert as they opened his

chest and dug out his heart and lungs, replacing them with stones the

shape of those organs that seemed to be flowing with living magma. They

sewed him up and then forced him to eat his own organs, saying something

to the effect of "consume your flesh, the product of Creation, and feel the

addiction". Tears poured from his eyes, and screams from his mouth as the

artificial heart within him began to pump its unnatural blood through his

massive frame. He prayed for it to stop, for whatever powers their were in

the world to let him kill these monstrousities and let him die. Luna had a

different plan for him though...as his prayers reached their height, he felt

an odd calm and a cessation of pain as though someone had plunged him

into the cool waters of a calm mountain lake. At first his captors began to

smile and cheer in celebration, as he began to grow and grow and grow,

then their cheers turned into cries of terror as the massive Tyrant Lizard

looked down upon them with rage and hunger. It was over in a matter of

moments, but the joy that he experienced at that first moment of freedom

he will remember forever.


After fleeing the pyramid and finding his way back out of the Wyld and into

Creation, he was greeted by a group of Lunar Exalts sent by the Silver Pact

who greeted him by name and told him that they were there to help him in

his new life. He went with them and learned about the history of Creation

and the Lunars, and on the next full moon he was given the Moonsilver

tattoos that marked him as one of Luna's chosen Warriors...thus began the

story of the Mighty Moonsilver Serpent of the Forsaken Woods.

Altered format of story to make it hopefully easier to read....hope that worked...I am horrible at the form of writing so I don't really know where paragraphs are supposed to end and that leads to overly long ones...oh well.

So Steven, is there any chance of reward for writing backstory or interacting on the boards in the form of exp or bonus points?

Just throwing this out there as part of my wish list, I want: Stone of Perfect Mobility, Stone of Bones to Fire, and the Stone of Blood to Fire. I the bone to fire is kinda eh for my character but the other two would be AWESOME!!!

Yeah, as far as board-based stuff goes, I'll probably reward some for meaninful interaction. Note that I probably won't advance things from where they are in that medium (ie: you're still in that city, and you won't be able to get into the building online), but you have been together now for about two weeks, so you've got the week's-worth of boat ride there, and a weeks worth of walking down the road to the city for interaction fodder.

I'll probably also reward something to the people that go through the effort of typing me a backstory. I don't know what yet, but something.

glorious background points perhaps? leaving more points for wondrous spending? a charm? 18 charms? a plutonium leg? a pet collie? ralph?

Cheyne I still haven't found Dark Messiah style anywhere, that stuff that I borrowed from you didn't have the Abyssal rule book in it, if that is where that style is.

doesn't matter, I will see it some time. By the way the Valor path has some FUCKING powerful charms in it...especially the capstone oh and the flurry one or Valor's form whatever they call it, but you keep hitting AN opponent (doesn't even have to be the same one) until you miss, and you only take I think a minus 2 penalty to your attacks...combined with a dex excellency and you have nastiness. Oh and the capstone lets you do agg dmg for a scene from what I can remember.

Well I noticed a decided lack of effecitveness in my builds on both characters but it was really bad on Ocean... it seems that she it REALLY REALLY low in damage output. Granted she does not use weapons (at least traditional ones) so that lowers her numbers and her style does not do damage or damage boosts... the MA charms for Dragons are shit too (allow lethal parry, atk counts as lethal and does lethal dmg, disarm, add element effect from element bolt to MA strike) no flurries, no damage boost, and the first two are negated by most MA styles since they count as barehanded lethal or you could just use a fucking form weapon... also I have sort of made an error in my character build aside from all that, I took an artifact for a minor boon but with permission may get better...

so Steven here is what I am proposing to help correct Ocean without too much re-writing...
1 the extra arms artifact says it can duplicate tools (as a lesser crafting artifact) as well as bare hands for manipulation. Knife is described as being used by most people for utilitarian purposes as well as combat. Can I duplicate a knife (not the artifact version the plain jane metal kind) for combat purposes when attacking. This is also my forms weapon so I could use it with MA to add some damage to my meager numbers.
2 this one is a bit of a stretch but I ask your indulgence... the Elemental Lens doubles the damage of elemental weapons of non-permanent nature. I am proposing that it be allowed to affect the arms created by the other artifact that was surgically implanted. true the other says the arms are of essense but I am not looking for a broken effect.

if you take both requests together it allows me to duplicate a +2 lethal weapon out of essense that gets doubled to +4L total which I have to spend 5 motes to activate. And even thought the artifact can act in conjunction with my body (ie I get 1 action per arm plus my action all at no penalty) I am, by virtue of my MA Style not going to be doing much (two non-damage causing katas at once takes up both hands)... This cannot ever be increased either since the arms cannot wield any weapon that requires attunement (such as daiklaves, essense lashes, dire spears, etc)

No, as an Abyssal you have a dice-adder maximum of Attribute+Ability via any combination of Charms.

also, I was looking more closely @ the occult tree, and it has the stuff in it I wanted for awareness. I will be losing the awareness sight charms and taking spirit sense and sorcerer's sight (through dead eyes actually). this won't even change anything in play, as the bonus from sorcerers sight still lets me see haley and supernatural crap, which is more apprpriate to the char. what i'm wondering however, is whether I should keep the excellency in awareness or get a martial arts excellency. comments?
