Knights: OOC-Rules of the Game

Before playing in a live game, all must read the following, and sign a release form that will be provided at the game acknowledging their agreement to follow the rules and releasing those in charge of the game from any liability for mental or physical damages.

Rules, setting information, character creation, Etc

Site Rules
1. No drugs, sex, or illegal activity will be engaged in. You are on other peoples’ property, please respect it.
2. Adhere to pool safety rules. At least one past lifeguard will be on premises to inform guest of rules. Bring a bathing suit if you wish to swim.
3. Alcohol is allowed, but only in moderation. Use common sense; a few beers are fine, but please do not get drunk.
4. The word of the Storyteller, Assistant Storytellers, and Owners of the property is final regarding behavior. If you are asked to stop a behavior, even if it is not against the rules listed here, please do so. Excessive arguing or the breaking of these rules will result in being kicked off the premises.
5. Cursing is perfectly fine, just try to keep it within reason (again, use common sense and good etiquette, no screaming profanity).
6. Do not assault other players! (No biting, no resolving fights by actually fighting.)
7. Respect your fellow players; if they are uncomfortable, back off.

Activity Rules
1. Stay in character. Please play a character, not a caricature. The NPC’s are not your enemy, and the goal of the game is not ‘kill the prince’, it is to tell a story. If the idea of roleplaying and participating in a story driven game does not appeal to you, please do not ruin it for everyone else.
2. Attempt to resolve contested actions by comparison of abilities or simply roleplaying out an interesting story. If not possible (combat for example) you should have a Storyteller mediate the contest.
3. Dress for your character, but do not overdress. A Ventrue might wear a suit, or a shirt and tie, but would likely not wear a tuxedo. A Toreador might wear club attire, but not a nightgown.
4. Follow the character creation guidelines. Make a real character with real goals and personality, not a killing machine or a joke.
5. Stay mostly within the masquerade. This means that flying, throwing fireballs, turning into a wolf, and other blatant displays will get you in trouble. You can get away with showing fangs, some supernatural strength, speed, and endurance, and some Nosferatu deformities.
6. Use the jargon and teach it to others, if you know it. (Masquerade, kindred, ancilae, clans, ghouls, etc.)
