A Dream

Post by Liquidprism »

I have a dream. A beautiful dream in which cybernetically enhanced prehistoric weapons platforms, are pitted against genetically augmented knights. A dream in which airships do violent combat with mecha in the skies over a battlefield drenched in the blood of mutants, monsters, and psions.

In this world, an ancient civilization was layed to waste, and a massive radioactive desert is home to secret treasures, zombie hoards, and unpredictable sandstorms. Vampires rule the night beneath twin moons, and darkness can exist for weeks on end. Humans live in great walled cities ruled by their feudal lords, who are in turn slaves to the whims of a technologically advanced theocracy.

Weather witches, dinosaurs, super powers, powered armor, giant robots, and mutated bug people. This is my dream. It is a dream comprised of all my imaginations. It is also a game I am going to run... sometime soon, should people wish.

If you are interested, you can make your desires known to me here. Should interest be apparent I may create a thread for this game, and discuss it more. We will see. I will probably limit the number of players, so first responders will have priority.

Gods help me, second. If you want me anyway, I'm fine if we continue our "no play in each others games" thing too.

Also, I don't know when I'll have free anyway. But since you aren't ready... meh.

Im getting close to being able to run at least a couple of sessions, and see where those go.

I dont have any particular ideas on who CAN play this game, but a few on who MIGHT. The setting is going to be heavily inspired by fantasy, and sci-fi anime. Characters will probably be architypal. Players need to be imaginative, and willing to create an epic experience through descriptive play (especially for combat). If you are into this then cool, if you dont feel up for it thats okay, but this might not be the game for you.

I will probably create slots that need to be filled in the party, and let people have control of their character from there. This insures the party has the types of characters the game needs, but lets people explore their role a bit.

I will be using a mixture of the Saga System card decks. Fifth Age combined with Marvel. Players will build from a hand. Things like Edge will be important, and the Marvel Abilties will govern the Fifth Age ones (Marvel cards/plays will be more awesome than Fifth age ones). The Marvel deck will also dictate a characters special powers.

The list of powers from the Marvel book will be heavly restricted, because many powers which are appropriate for a comic book wont be appropriate to this setting.

That is all for now.

“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
