" We could simply start by saying we a philospohy club of sorts, and begin handing out fliers to recruit the ground work. If we target freshly graduated dragonblooded we should have good success. Then after a little time beginning acting as a more formal group."

amari:
"This may sound weird coming from me, but do we really want a bunch of kids interested in philosophy club to form the core of our young dragons? I mean, yeah its not a bad idea, and we could probably get some good thinkers, but I don't want to make that our only recruitment drive."

"Excellent, what do you all think about recruiting from the Academies? Just snagging them when they graduate."

amari: "i think that is probably a good idea, especially since some individuals, especially those coming out of the cloister, are expected to go out on their own for a while."

::cathak sits, nodding amicably as he listens to you speak. he pets one of his hearthcats absently as it grooms his hand.::

if someone would like to put up a thread on the youth league and its activities, that is fine. if no one is interested, that is fine too... or if you want to continue discussing, go for it. but i would like to move this discussion along.

Mating: The Game

Nellens Vireti awaits a night that you are free, and will be escorted to your home at a convenient time.

Nijone has sent you a thank you letter as well as an invitation to come back at your convenience.

Your next move?

)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

For anyone that cares about the inner workings of house nellens, amari has suggested two new bureaucratic processes, both of which will drastically reduce manpower for filing paperwork and will streamline trade. She is personally in charge of implementing one of them, and in the process of doing so, she came across several questionable trade agreements. one was outright embezzlement, and she is blackmailing the embezzler for political favors. another is a potentialy profitable but poorly negotiated agreement with some of the southern protectorates, and since it is up for renegotiation she plans to take charge of that process and make a fortune for her house, as well as a name for herself.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

As far as time goes, she still waits... just say when.

OOC: I will post a new thread about the Youth League after we go to see time. I am ready to do that btw, no sense in holding it off any further.

Aizan will meet with Vireti any time he's got a spare night available. Probably after the Cathak meeting but before we head out to visit frozen Time. Will periodocially check in with Nijone, primarily to ensure that there are no remaining effects from the poison and also to establish her as a more solid ally. Might bring up the youth league stuff and see if she sounds interested in it at all, or knows someone that might be.

On a related note, I'll supply Amari with the names of my 'contacts' to see if she's able to dig up anything on why Mnemon in particular would want them dead.

So, yeah, when Aizan has some night free, he sends word to that effect to Vireti. During the conversation phase he might mention the meeting with Cathak in passing to see if she has an opinion on the Realm's 'Human' Resources issues. Will also try to disceren if she's had any major contact with Mnemon - either the woman or the house - outside of me.

Nijone: "that sounds like a wonderful idea. i'm in... assuming you want me of course... :oops: "

Vireti:
::arrives by night, wearing a cloak to disguise her features. When she gets there, she seems prepared to perform a distasteful but necessary act. When she meets you, she seems put off by your age, but at the same time eased somewhat by your charm. she makes a bit of small talk with you while getting prepared, after noting that this is to stay in the strictest confidence, and will not be a recurring interaction, at least not after she has conceived.::

"oh, yes, you probably are right about there not being enough people to do everything that needs to be taken care of. Since the empress left, everyone has been closing ranks and taking care of only those things important to their houses. This has left the shared resources of the realm in disrepair. And of course we have small conflicts on virtually all fronts currently, and we cannot possibly deal with them all. And as Greyfalls has shown us, you never know when a small spark will blaze out of control..."

Amari: From what I can tell, these individuals all either opposed mnemon in some way, or have close family members that did. The way I see it, she figured she would send a warning and eliminate potential rivals at the same time. And if the targets didn't die, you become the savior, gaining you (and thus her, since you are just her pawn) allies, and she gets to see what you can really do.

"Part of the motivation of the youth league is to try to avoid having those small sparks go out of control. Another is to more efficiently utilize the graduates that the Realm outputs from the schools every year. Frankly, I'm not too involved in the nitty-gritty organizational side of things. I have little talent for such things, though my sworn sister has very solid looking plans for it." When prompted, Aizan acknowledges that he is to keep her mouth shut and assures her with some elementally-appropriate metaphor 'silent as stone' or something.

He also makes a note to start doing something to disguise his aging process if he doesn't start looking a bit older within a year or so, since people will be expecting him to age up into his 20's. There are spells that can create disguises, and probably demons that can shape flesh, he'll look into those later though, since it isn't immediately relevant.

Vireti: "well, it sounds like a good idea, if you can actually get members, and stay out of the politics. with everyone playing things close, it is difficult to get any cross-house work done these days.

but... perhaps you can talk to me at some later point about this. Nellens might be interested in supporting this, especially with your oath sister being a member of our house and all.

To business then? We will try to make this as painless as possible..."

To business. If she doesn't really want to do the networking thing, Aizan isn't going to try to make her. He doesn't really need any help with recruiting Nellens to his causes, given Amari's contacts in the House already.

well, if you read the post, she pretty much says she would be interested in speaking further on the topic. But she wants to get the current task over and done with.

OOC: So I didn't really know where to ask this, and I didn't want to start a new thread devoted to it, so as to prevent cluttering up this forum further. Is there any sort of appreciable number of Siddies that haven't been discovered or taken in by the Bureau? It might be a worthwhile goal to try to round them up and while attempting to conceal them, train them and teach them the truth about the First Age, the Empire, the Solars and such. Protect them from the brainwashing of the Factions...

ooc: circle talk.

And really that would depend. really young siddies are viable candidates, but you would have to get into some of their training programs to access them. which is doable.
